Beyond Hollywood glitter, California is an immensely diverse state that idependantly of the US, would be one of the most productive, powerful nations in the world. There are redwood forests, a verdant Central Valley teeming with agriculture, the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, fascinating deserts full of life and world renowned cities with miles of stunning coastline.

Despite crime, pollution, traffic and knee shaking earthquakes, California remains the golden child of the USA. Californians live in one of the most diverse and interesting places in the world.

In 2008 a tree in Redwood National Park was discovered to be the tallest tree in the world.
